Questions about official DeKalb County criminal records must go to the government office that holds the requested file. Sheriff booking records, police incident reports, felony court files, misdemeanor cases, and Georgia criminal histories have different custodians. The contacts below route requests to the DeKalb County Sheriff, the correct court clerk, DeKalb County Police, or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation instead of this private reference site.

This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.

DeKalb County records should be directed according to the document type:

  • Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
  • Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the DeKalb County Sheriff
  • Criminal histories: use a participating Georgia law-enforcement agency or the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia Crime Information Center
  • Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
  • Record restriction and sealing: follow the prosecutor, arresting-agency, or court route required by Georgia law
  • Fingerprint-based authorized checks: register through Georgia Applicant Processing Service when the requesting program supplies an agency code

For Sheriff-created jail, booking, and warrant-processing records, contact the DeKalb County Sheriff, 4415 Memorial Drive, Decatur, GA 30032, at 404-298-8111. The Sheriff provides an official online open-records form. Confirm counter or mailing instructions before visiting or sending documents.

Felony case files are kept by the DeKalb Superior Court Clerk at the DeKalb County Courthouse, 556 North McDonough Street, Decatur, GA 30030. The courthouse general and Superior Court line is 404-371-4901, with ordinary county hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. State Court misdemeanor records use the separate State Court Clerk route at 404-371-2261.
